
Our overall aim is to provide: A long term plan of where the company wants to be (its vision) and how to execute it. This is defined in terms of return on investment, market share, profitability, size, expansion etc. We train the business owner to align their total thinking and execution to the strategic plan which they develop with our help. This ensures:
1. The company is focussed on its priorities and avoids going down wasteful “cul de sac’s”, which dilute the company’s energy and resources.
2. That all staff know how they contribute to the strategic goals of the company and this is used in their performance management
3. That the company is aware of its business risks and how to mitigate them.
4. The company is investing for its future success – it has a strategic budget and an operational budget.
5. The company knows it priority customer segments - now and in the future.
6. The company comes to terms with its ambition and desire to make it happen.
7. The company has a succession plan for upcoming staff and family interests.
8. The company is measuring its progress against its strategic goals. We call them BSSO’s (balanced strategic success outcomes)
9. The business owner can communicate explicitly what the company is trying to do (to internal and external audiences), instead of being hidden away in his or head. (Helpful for capital raising)
10. The company actively uses the strategic plan as a daily guide and is not done once a year and consigned to the “dark-room” The company has a one page summary of their strategy.
This is an NZTE approved course which gets a 50% subsidy from the Government if the customer gets an NZTE Voucher.
